Our kitchens span the full range the Tweed asks for. A kitchen takes more moisture and heat than any other room, which in a humid subtropical climate is a material decision, not a style one. Carcasses are glued, dowelled and built square; drawers run on Blum or Hettich full-extension runners rated to about 40kg, or 70kg for heavy pot-and-pan drawers, and the hinges are 3-way adjustable and rated past 100,000 open-and-close cycles so doors stay aligned to within about 2mm long after handover. Near the water we fit corrosion-resistant hinges, runners and handles as standard. Door fronts are chosen for the setting: two-pac polyurethane for a hard, seamless painted finish, timber veneer or laminate elsewhere, with vinyl-wrap kept away from the oven and cooktop where heat lifts it. The Tweed's cane-era and post-war cottages - the region grew up around sugar, with the Condong mill on the Tweed River crushing cane since 1880 - often have walls a long way out of square, so we scribe cabinets and benchtops to fit rather than force a standard run.

Design and written quote

Next we turn the measure into a clear design and a written, itemised quote. Materials, door styles, compliant benchtops, hardware and a realistic timeline are all set out plainly, with honest advice on trade-offs, such as laminate versus natural stone, or where two-pac is worth it. Because engineered stone is banned, you will only ever see legal, safe benchtop options. Nothing is ordered or built until you are happy and the quote is signed off.

Build, install and warranty

In the workshop your cabinets are glued, dowelled and built square, then delivered and installed by the same team that measured them. On site we scribe to the walls and pack everything dead level, holding reveals to within about 2mm and adjusting the three-way hinges so every door aligns. Why won't you supply engineered stone benchtops?

Do you do the benchtop or a separate stonemason?

We build and install all the cabinetry, and for natural granite, marble, porcelain or sintered stone we coordinate a licensed stonemason to fabricate and install the top, so you deal with one point of contact rather than chasing separate trades. Laminate, timber and stainless tops we handle directly. Either way the kitchen lands as one coordinated job with a single accountable local maker.

Can you build a kitchen for a salt-exposed beach house?

Yes, and we build differently for it. Homes at Kingscliff, Cabarita Beach and Fingal Head cop salt-laden onshore wind, so we fit corrosion-resistant hinges, runners and handles as standard and use 16mm to 18mm HMR moisture-resistant board with sealed cut-outs in the wet zones. It resists the humidity and salt far better than standard particleboard, though no board is fully waterproof - we are honest about that.

How long does a kitchen take from measure to install?

Once the design, finishes and benchtop are approved, a typical kitchen is made in our workshop and installed within a few weeks, with the on-site cabinetry install usually spanning several days and the stone benchtop templated and fitted after the cabinets are in. Larger island kitchens in new Casuarina and Kings Forest homes take longer. We give a written timeline when we quote.

Do you renovate existing kitchens or only new builds?

Both. We handle full kitchen renovations in established Banora Point, Terranora and Tweed Heads homes as well as complete fit-outs for new coastal-estate builds.
